Menzer, Robert J. - Died on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the age of 75. He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Kay), loving father of Kathy Forgione, Harold, Robert, Michael and Billy, cherished grandfather of 9 grandchildren, dear brother of Eleanor Loretan, Charles Menzer and Judith Raab. He was the beloved husband of Katerina, loving father of Janina Rowland and Alexander Lechki, father-in-law of Aphrodite and the late William J., cherished grandfather of Christina and Stephanie and great-grandfather of Zoe. Previte, Joseph J. - Died on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of Gloria, loving father of Patricia D. Gold and the late Michael Corritore, father-in-law of Remo Consilvio, cherished grandfather of Christa, Leah and Drew, dear brother of Richard (Louise) and John (Flora). Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Previte graduated from Fordham University Law School in 1947 after serving in WWII for the United States Army. He was admitted to the NY Bar Association in 1948 and the Washington D.C. Bar Association in 1950. In 1950, Mr. Previte opened a prestigious law firm in Queens, where he practiced throughout his career. He served as President of the Queens Chamber of Commerce; Commissioner, President and Legislative Chairman of the NYC Board of Elections; and was the former Locality Mayor of Jackson Heights. Mr. Previte served as the District Governor for Lions International, former President of the Jackson Heights Lions Club and Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, where he also served as Chairman. He was a Board Member and Volunteer Chef for the United Cerebral Society and American Cancer Society of Queens. He served as Vice Chairman and Member of the Long Island City YMCA and Past Vice President and Vice Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Mr. Previte was on the Board of Trustees for the Queens Museum and Secretary and Member of the Board of Directors for the Queens Botanical Gardens. Mr. Previte was a member of the President’s Circle of NY Hospital Medical Center of Queens, where he passed on April 28, 2008 due to Cardiopulmonary Arrest. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, friends, and community. Mr. Previte was passionate about traveling the world, cooking and gardening, and will be especially missed for his contributions as a public servant and philanthropist.
